Might as well get it started. I was really impressed with Burns last night. QB, WRs, both lines, they played well on every side of the ball. Burns will need to continue that and absolutely must cut out the penalties. The Dawgs has more penalty yards than Forestview had yards total last night.

Burns has won 2 of the last 3 against the Chargers, but to be honest I don't remember the last time Burns won at Crest. Crest will definitely matchup athlete for athlete with Burns. Should be a fun one next Friday.

It's cliche I know but line play and limiting penalties will win this one.

No prediction yet for me.

If Burns plays as sloppy as they did in the first half and the O-Line blocks the same way they did in the first quarter we will be down by 2 TD’s before we ever hear the gun fire.

I liked the way we looked last night as far as throwing, catching and running. On the other hand I don’t think we looked good overall. It was the first game of the year and usually penalties are the worst in that game but it has to be cleaned up.

I didn't think they OL was an issue as far as play last night, they kept Mauney clean all night. It was just all the holding penalties, especially that 1st drive.

Something to think about with this game.....Sosebee (spelling?) saw basically this same Burns team in the playoffs less than a year ago. He's very familiar with us. It will be interesting to see how this helps Crest this week.
Burns got a Crest Coach too from what I heard on the radio. The kid was disqualified and will play this coming week. It was helmet to helmet. Just a bad point of contact with no malicious intent but the refs will call that every time. Knocked the kids helmet off for FV. I understand safety but the game has definitely changed. We got stickers for those hits.

I think Burns wins big in the end. Crest defense gives up 30+. Little, young and inexperienced can’t stop big strong fast experienced offense. But Crest can score lots of points. That QB #1 is real, can run and throw with some top shelf WRs that can fly.
Burns just bigger better with some veterans. Points will be scored.

This COUNTY GAME in my mind is a TOSS UP.

Crest is going to be fast. LJ will have to be at his best covering green and price that these offers rolling in aren’t a fluke. His ankle injury may be a big factor in that. A healthy haynes will also help, he didn’t play many snaps at all Friday. Regardless, you gotta put the pads on and get after it. I like mookie in this game and think he will be a difference maker.

Is it true Burns LB not playing fri, cause he got ejected this past fri
From what I have heard he was disqualified from the game last Friday, not ejected... However I never knew there was a difference in high school... Maybe somebody here will know?

Can Crest stop Norris? After WR warlick's breakout party will he have another big game? Can the dogs contain the quick and shifty Crest QB ? 'm going with the Dogs 28-27 in another Cleveland County football classic....Go Dogs!

If you were ejected then it was considered malicious in some form for the penalty and you cannot play the following week unless it gets changed to a DQ through protest.
A DQ could be from helmet to helmet like in this case. It wasn’t an intentional bad hit but they had to call it. You can play the following week.

Correct. The play was on a kickoff or punt I believe, and it was a blindside block. I don't believe there was any malicious intent there. From the stands, I didn't see anything heated from either team all night. So I believe that's why it was a DQ.

1998, although we did beat RS there in 2012 in the infamous Goat Bowl 😅, that game was played literally the day it happened and the game was moved there that day plus we beat Polk there in 2016 in the jamboree AKA Kujuan Pryor’s coming out party (we probably won a few more games in the jamboree there too). But the point remains we have not beaten Crest there since 1998.

GO BULLDOGS!

Man, there is no chatter about this game. I think both fan bases are very unsure about what's going to happen Friday. Crest doesn't really know who they are yet with the new coach and system. I don't know if Burns is considered the favorite or not, but we're usually not the favorite in this matchup. Neither team played a worthy opponent in Week 1. It's probably a 50/50 game to be honest. But I do feel more confident this year than in years past.

Burns definitely gonna have the size advantage if the Young Chargers wanna hang in this they definitely got to have a fast start..Last team with the ball gets the W..

Ole Pryor was great player for Burns, but his daddy Wesley was pure Stud at Shelby, I remember watching him many night as the workhorse to Shelbys run game.
Took him him to supper club and saw he was great young man too....
To great players.

The question in this one is does Crest wear down and who has the best defense. Both teams can score
Coaching IDK - call it even until Sosebee gets established at Crest
QB - even or maybe slight edge to Crest
RB - Burns
WR - even or maybe slight edge to Crest too close to call
OL - Burns
DL - Burns
LB - Burns
DB - Burns
Kicking game - not close Burns
Team speed - probably Crest but too close to call
Size - Burns
Experience/Senior leadership - Burns
Overall talent - Burns
Home field advantage - FWIW - Crest

So based on your synopsis of the game, Crest by 6?

Gonna disagree with you on the QB. Burns QB this year is one of the best at Burns in a really long time.

Honestly IDK and said even or Crest slightly better. The Mauney kid is a stud but so is Huskey. I think the Mauney kid has a better team or complete team around him. Huskey is one tough hard nosed kid and showed it against Shelby last year when he got lit up (took one heck of a hit to the chest and head) and came back in the game. Both are great athletes that can extend plays. If Crest can't get to Mauney I think Burns wins by a TD or two. He's very savvy and elusive enough to pick a team a part. I expect to see #3 have a big game as well.
All the CC teams have very special QBs this year.

I’ll let them boys talk on the field Friday night. Nothing about crest as a team worries me. We might lose and I may eat my words but I just don’t see it happening. 1-2 players aren’t going to beat Burns. Norris will have a great game and looking at things it seems that crest is running the same defense as forestview. We’ll be ready to roll and we will see if crest can tag along.
