In the continuing saga of the SCS's the local paper reports today that the county commissioners will promote a second sales tax referendum this time earmarked for educational funding in exchange for shelving plans to close schools. The commissioners also hinted they might be willing to offer a one time payment to help implement advanced programs within the stanly county schools. As to whether school officials would agree to these terms the superintendent said that would be up to the school board to decide.
