Man there's so many studs that have come through Andrews that aren't even on the list above. And some on the list above made it to the NFL and didn't play much until their senior year in high school.
Chute Boxe, I was there when Headen was a senior. At the time best I had seen at school but again I have to put Alan Hooker in his class. Different styles but Hooker's teams had more success. And nobody could tackle him one on one. Got to throw Scott Riddle in too for team success and what he accomplished at Elon.I'll say Andy Headen.
Willie was one of the fastest DarkHorse running backsI played against Parker. So I'm going to say Fast Willie was the best player to ever play at Clinton
I'll add Brian Sullivan. Toughest kid I ever seen play at Newton. Started at middle linebacker and fullback. Hurt a lot of opponents. Took a different path. While a player at Lenoir-Rhyne University he finished top of his class and is now a medical doctor.Trooer that is a good list for Newton Conover, but there are more and I would hate to choose the best. I will add a couple names to your list.
D. McCorkle
Butch Baker
Mike Baker
Curtis Burgins
Frasier Williamson
Gary Robinson
Tracy Coulter
Nathan Bowie
Tony Pope
Jordan Gibbs
Tevin James
There more that deserves to be considered, but my mind is drawing a blank on some names.
