Best defense in 3A

Who is going to have best defense in 3A.
Too early to tell with so many things to factor in. If I just had to make an early guess I would say A.C Reynolds. They will be without their top 2-3 defenders from last season but still well coached and disciplined group at every level of the defense. Had one of the best defenses last season and I don’t expect that to change much.

Besides Reynolds’s I will go with Crest and Kings Mountain.
Crest took a big blow during Spring Ball losing Dez Porter for the season..D Line gonna be on the small side but has experience..

Return 6 on offense. Our fb is our best linebacker so he'll play sparingly on defense. Our qb is really good, he's a sophomore but may end up being the best we've had. Y'all feeding us when we come up there??
QB was impressive against Dudley last year. Not sure on the other but if I find out I'll let you know.

Too early to tell... But Southern Durham should be in the conversation. From what I hear they will roll out a defense where nearly everyone on the field has a D-1 offer.
They will be huge on the lines of scrimmage. One of the biggest defensive lines in the state.

KM had the best defense around last year if it gets better everyone is in a heap of trouble..
That same best KM defense that gave up 20 to Crest and 46 to E. Lincoln?
Meanwhile the SP defense gave up 13 and 20 to Crest....and 14 to E. Lincoln.
So much misinformation and lack of respect for SPs defense last year.

KM will be noticeably better on defense this year. Their staff upgraded substantially and while 15 was a great player....their depth will fill that void nicely.
sidenote (edit)- lol - There are NO NCHSAA coaches that will underestimate KMs HC/staff/coordinators.

You bragging on KM more than I did😂 EL had their # but nobody else did..

I love where the KM defense is right now going into the season. The talent and new coaching schemes are a perfect fit. Hopefully the kids can stay injury free. KM has college talent at each level of their defense. Last year the D-line hid some flaws but not this year. The Mountaineers return a DT who missed all of last season due to injury. The DT in the middle will make an impact and help the rest of the DL continue to terrorize opposing teams. Simpson and Armstrong are fierce up front. Melton at linebacker will be a breakout star. KM has elite speed in their secondary. 3 of the 4db’s have offers and the fourth (Brown) will definitely be offered at some point. KM’s defense will be improved from a very good defense last season.

Don’t forget about Rodney Unnasch playing LB right beside Melton.

I didn’t. I love the fact that we have two 6’3 linebackers that can run playing beside each other. Melton athleticism makes him elite. I can’t wait to see him in a full time role this season. Unnasch looks slim from a distance but when you see him up close you can see that he has put in that weight room work. Ward is also a very good player at linebacker. I will keep my eye on Tristan Presley also as the season progresses. He took a couple of years off from the game but is back. Dad was a very good player back in the day.
