    Friday Results

Cherryville wins the Area IV Championship with a 12-8 victory over the Gaston Braves in dramatic fashion as Wes Reynolds blasted a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 7th. It was Reynolds' second HR of the game.

    Play-in game
Union County and Mint Hill was suspended in the 9th inning due to weather with the score tied 6-6. Will be resumed at 1:00 Saturday.

I was wondering if you heard anything on the Mint-Union game. Thanks for passing it along.
I believe this will be a competitive state tournament.
Hard to picture it without Rowan, Wayne, Pitt or Cleveland County (Shelby).
I thought Union might run out of pitching early in the Cherryville series but they didn’t.
