No. 1 seeds Clinton, Mountain Heritage, Randleman and Shelby move into quarters. And three of the No. 2 seeds - Reidsville, SouthWest and North Lincoln are still going. Only Washington bowed out ... was the Salisbury 32-12 win over Washington the biggest upset so far?

I don’t think so Washington wasn’t as good as the ranking showed plus Salisbury has a great defense and started peaking at the right time. I think them and Randleman will meet in the regional finals.

I think TGT was referring just to 2A scores....but you're right MC going down was unexpected....glad to see it..............

How is Mallard Creek losing to Vance even a big deal? Vance is the defending west champion, while MC didnt even win a playoff game last year. And they played earlier this year, with MC only winning by 10. Seems like a good, close game that could have gone either way. This is the second year in a row where MC got eliminated in their first playoff game, scoring only 7 points in each game. Seed upset, yeah. But shocking or unbelievable, "biggest upset?" Not hardly.

Yes, the 4AA West was this year's Bracket of Death with Richmond, Hough, Olympic Kell, Independence, Myers Park, West Forsyth, Reagan, Pinecrest, Butler, Vance, Mallard Creek....we knew on Seeding Saturday that more than one state champion caliber team would not get past (or even make it to) the 2nd Rd

My biggest surprises in 2A/2AA are probably Whiteville over Wallace-Rose Hill, and like someone else mentioned, not just that they won, but that it was never a close game....other than Salisbury over Washington, the other big surprise for me was West Lincoln over South Point....in my bracket, I had those two meeting in the 2nd Rd but expected the more playoff battle tested program to advance to the 3rd....major tip of the cap to West Lincoln for not being content/satisfied with getting that one playoff win and going back to work and getting 2....now if they get 3, then THAT would be the upset of the year

Whiteville over Wallace biggest upset of 2a. SWE, Clinton or NE would not have been a surprise if they beat Wallace, but Whiteville!
