This one looks like a real toss up. Both teams are 2-2 against common opponents, with Freedom having more impressive wins over SC and Ashe than Alexander while Alexander made a better game of it than Freedom in losses against Hibriten and Watauga. Both teams look to be in the playoffs and on the road, so that doesn't seem to be a factor, though Alexander has a chance to get to .500 with a win.

Calpreps game simulator has Freedom winning 22-21 on a neutral field.

The Patriots beat the Cougars last year in Taylorsville pretty convincingly and the two-game stretch that included the playoff game at Hibriten was the best stretch for Freedom last season. As of now it looks like this season could end the same way as Freedom is projected to go to Lenoir in the first round of the playoffs. The Cougars are currently projected to go to E. Forsyth.

I think it depends on which Freedom team shows up. At times FHS has been very undisciplined and then others, have played great. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to skip out on this game and head across town. Freedom by 7
This is true. I honestly feel as though the Patriots could be 7-2 right now and it is frustrating to see them keep getting unnecessary penalties and making dumb mistakes.

Personally why has freedom not gotten over the hump. Seems especially within that area freedom get the most talent ? I know they have had few different coaches n what now but seem they gotten bit more consistent but they aren't world beaters I think they should be imo ....

We have talent, but if I'm honest discipline is an issue. For instance, when we played Crest we had come back from way down to cut it to 10 at 32-22 early in the 4th quarter and had made a 4th down stop deep in our own territory. But we got a late hit penalty on that play that kept their drive alive and allowed them to put the game out of reach. Several times this year dumb penalties have hurt the Patriots and that needs to be addressed. This isn't something that I see with well-disciplined teams.
