ADMs out

Beamer, has Hibriten switched up there offense totally? No more heavy dose of the B back, option offense, counter play that had been deadly when Gee was on campus?

Going to be interesting come Saturday with Shelby and West Lincoln both with 827. Newton Conover has a lower number 816

gotta love how the list has Myers Park at 3688 (wow) and Nantahala next on list at 28...lol....not even sure where Nantahala is...Mountains?? sounds Native American.....Notice the political correctness there....I didn't say Indian......................

The moment the Adms were posted it was as if I could actually hear the collective gasps of the 2a teams

May have even heard a few thank you football gods from the 2aa side of the house too

LOL should be fun let’s see what happens

Nantahala is close to Andrews and Murphy in the far western part of state.

The way it looks right now
1 Shelby
2 Mountain Heritage
3 West Stanley
4 Randleman
5 Rams

Unless something crazy happens, and it wont, the Rams will be on the road starting Round 2 assuming Randleman and Rams win round 1.

And if the Rams remain unfocused and lethargic with minimal effort like they have been, they will be playing basketball the Monday after Thanksgiving if not sooner.

Other than East Surry and their collection of future ACC players, Reidsville has shut down most everybody with six shutouts in 10 games and allowing just 6, 16 and 14 in the other three wins. I don't understand the "unfocused, minimal effort" comment. Sure the penalties made them look sloppy against Cummings, but that was an unusual scenario. Entire game had a bit of uneasiness to it with the refs not working well enough to get things under control.

ADMs for what Pisgah Bears said about top 5:
1 Shelby 827 .... (884 last year)
2 Mountain Heritage 629 (665 last year)
3 West Stanley 763 (757 last year)
4 Randleman 856 (834 last year)
5 Reidsville 723 (708 last year)

Question -- Why are you so sure Randleman will not be 2AA?

Sorted low to high

Not just the Cummings game, which should have been more around a 56-0 score if we are being honest with ourselves. It started with E Guilford, blew up with East Surry, and was still evident even with wholesale defensive changes made before Mt Airy.

I believe blackandyellow said it best on a different post... There Is No Senior Leadership. Past years you could point out a handful of guys easily that were leaders.

Nantahala is indeed an Indian name and deep in the WNC mountains. Notice I didn't save Native American because its from Indigenous peoples, not some white liberal labeled bs.

I'm pretty sure Randleman will be 2aa
Yes, they are much higher than last year....like us at South Granville....I'm shocked to see that our number (840) is higher than last year's 836, when SG was the largest school in small 2A....our on campus number dropped from around 741 to 705 but the students at Granville Early College that live in SG district count toward ADM for athletics and bumped that number all the way to 840, guessing SG will be 2AA....at least 3 or 4 from the cut line this year

Tarheelg you always seemed to do a good job on projections what’s the number you think is the cut off line on 2aa big randleman is at 856

Tarheelg you always seemed to do a good job on projections what’s the number you think is the cut off line on 2aa big randleman is at 856
I'm guessing the cut line will be just above 800....without this week's rankings yet, and guessing on who I think will win and lose this Friday night, and how that will affect next week's rankings, my best guess is that the smallest 2AA will be Newton-Conover at 816 and the largest small 2A will be SW Edgecombe at 814....I'm sure I'll be wrong on some of the wins/losses this Friday AND what the computer will spit out for this week's rankings and next week's rankings but what happens is often is you get a surprise above the line AND below the line....(or East of the East/West cutline and West of the East/West cutline) so the projection usually stays close....it all comes down to which 64 teams qualify for the playoffs....if some of the bubble teams below 800 ADM get in and knock out teams above 800 ADM, then Bandys, N-C-, SWE, etc. could all go 2AA....thing is most of the teams that appear to be on the bubble are bigger than Shelby....if a bunch of them make the playoffs and bump out other teams bigger than Shelby, that's what could push Shelby down (what everybody's talking about)....as for Randleman, i think they're far enough above the cut line (10 teams right now) that they should safely be big, and also safely in the East....if the cards fall right, Randleman could actually be the #1 seed in 2AA East

Still dont see how shelby is 2a with over 100 more people than reidsville

I dont even see how MH is 2a with almost 100 less than reidsville lol these 2 will be 1a before long

West Stanly would have been below 710 but Stanly County Schools is now allowing the community college early college student and the alternative students to now play at their home schools. Albemarle added an early college on campus this school year. All four Stanly schools would have been down if not for the add in of the off campus students.

have done some loose figuring and I think the cutoff between 2A and 2AA will be around 833 or so...where N. Surry is............may be and probably are wrong.......

Who ends with second place in the Mid-State 2-A might help shuffle the deck as Cumings, Carrboro and Bartlett Yancey are expected to end up tied for second. Not sure how they'll decide that because there's no clear tie-breaker as Cummings beat Bartlett Yancey, but lost to Carrboro while Carrboro beat Cummings but lost to Bartlett Yancey.
Cummings has 1008 ADM, Carrboro 876 and Bartlett Yancey 715 so obviously Bartlett Yancey would be the only small 2-A.
Are the adjusted rankings the tie breaker for conferences?

gotta love how the list has Myers Park at 3688 (wow) and Nantahala next on list at 28...lol....not even sure where Nantahala is...Mountains?? sounds Native American.....Notice the political correctness there....I didn't say Indian......................

Nantahala means "Land of the Noon Day Sun" in Cherokee. Aptly named, it's nothing but gorges and canyons. Fun fact nobody is asking for, it is one of three K-12 schools in the state, along with Highlands and Ocracoke.

How do these play in the seedings?
Not at all, sort of.....they play into subdividing the 64 teams into 32 in 2AA and 32 in small 2A, the seeding 1-16 into
East & West in both subdivisions is done after the teams are split, first from A vs. AA, then East/West....then all conference first place finishers, by the final adjusted maxpreps rankings (AMPR), then all teams that got credit for a second place conference finish (if their conference gets two auto bids) (in order of AMPR), then possibly any third place auto bids (whoever finishes third in Central Carolina gets an auto bid here since they have so many teams in the conference, and sometimes you might see a team from a split conference with a random auto bid in tier of 3s, but I don't foresee any this year at the moment), then followed by at large or wild card teams, (in order of AMPR)

Still dont see how shelby is 2a with over 100 more people than reidsville
It's not about how much bigger they are than Reidsville....it will be about where the cut line is after we know which 64 teams qualify for the playoffs, which we will not know officially until they release the preliminary brackets with the final adjusted maxpreps rankings....Shelby will be very close to the cut line, now that this week's rankings just got released, I will go rework my projection, but earlier today, using last week's rankings, and guessing on wins and losses this Friday, I still had Shelby in 2AA, 3 teams ahead of the cut line
