ADM's are up

There are a few 3a teams who have some huge numbers 1600 plus. Hopefully they get bumped to where they belong next realignment. Also, with 1247 kids, Catholic could move from 4a to little 3a...Interesting to say the least

New Big South 3A? Ashbrook, Crest, Kings Mountain, Freedom, Forestview, North Gaston, Huss and Burns.
New SMAC 2A? Cramer, South Point, East Gaston, RS Central, Chase, Shelby, Lake Norman and East Rutherford.

Soooo... Crest has 76 less students than Asheville. Will we see crest Asheville and Reynolds in 3aa west?

Concord is also over the 1300 student mark...could you imagine Crest, ACR, Asheville, Concord, Weddington, South Iredell...talk about a monster bracket...the 3AA west would be insane

Crest definitely 3AA.

Teams that could go either way - Topsail, Statesville, Byrd (if they make it), Rocky Mount, Saint Stephens

West Rowan and South Point in 2AA? Guess a lot of west 2AA hopes will be crushed for four years.

But they are building houses like crazy to.
I told a long time ago, that it was almost OVER................ It is!.... Get your purple shirt ready and buy seadog one too. The South Cramer Purple Raiders..............

Pitiful................. SP is about to be blotted out................ good...

The determining factor is where they will cut off 4A. If they go strictly by the 20-30-30-20 which translates into roughly 75 -113-113-75 (or 76-112-112-76), then there would be about 6 or 7 schools with enrollments over 1600 in the 3A classification. I think they will move those schools up to 4A for a more definitive break with a percentage of approximately 21.5%. - still within a reasonable range Those under 700 would number 79 schools for about 21%. Dividing the remaining number in half would give the 2A and 3A divisions approximately 108-109 teams each. West Rowan will stay 3A. Numerically the dividing line between 3A and 2A is somewhere between 1050 (strict 20-30-30-20) and 1030 (looser interpretation). Hunter Huss would go to 3A. Stuart Cramer is in between and could go either way. South Point and East Gaston would go 2A, unless one or both petitioned for 3A. I would hope that SP would petition up.

Sorry Coonie but these are the numbers for the next alignment. Welcome to our classification.

While, these numbers are a good indicator, they are only for football. The following note was on the ADM page:
NOTE: ADM numbers for realignment purposes will be posted at a later date and will include further adjustments.

Ha Ha, no surprise there, just like everything else in the government. Have a formula and the numbers to use but then "adjust" the numbers to do what ever they want to do. Like the old saying, figures don't lie but liars figure.

You're so far off base, a Shelby graduate could be your doctor!

The only reason SP could be 2A is because the NCHSAA has changed how they divide between the divisions, contrary to the wishes of the coaches and ADs. Had they left it 25-25-25-25, then you would have been wrong. But have fun playing Jekyll and Hyde, Huss, North Gaston, and Stuart Cramer Purple Storm since they will be 3A and probably in your conference. Who will be in the more pathetic conference then?

After they move the no football schools it will strictly go by ADM with no modification. South Point is a 2AA school the next 4 years. Welcome Big Red.

You still would be in the most pathetic conference.

I think the non-football schools were left out of the released list. Also, SP can always petition to play up - whether they will or not, I don't know. As I said to Rulz, the only reason SP has 2A numbers this realignment is because they have changed from 25-25-25-25 to 20-30-30-20. In the past any school over 1000 has generally been 3A. It is all arbitrary. However, I think Gaston County in trying to make most of the schools in the county 3A (aside from Bessemer City, Cherryville, and Highland Tech), shot all of us in the foot. Screw Gaston County BOE.

I don't think the change in classification standards by NCHSAA has anything to do with South Point dropping down. 25-25-25-25 or 20-30-30-20 the midpoint should still be the same. With the middle representing the split between 3A and 2A. South Point dropped to 2A because their numbers are low. Probably the same reason East Gaston saw a large drop and is going 2A.
