Well lets get it started....
Shelby comming off a great win vs Kings Mt. 32-16
Lots of things to try and clean up this week, One is penalties two is turnovers.
Start of summer practice O-line and Defense was going be a Question Mark.
In preseason scrimmage our Oline was not good at all.

But coaches have done wonders in 2 weeks.
Then theres our D, our front 7 are really good, some bend dont break apply.
This week will be a test, before big match up with Crest.
Ac lost go West this week so im sure they be hungry...
Cant wait, ill stick my neck out say Shelby 30. AC. 17.

This will be a game that could go either way.

We have to get better on offense and figure out our identity. We have the backs and QB but not sure who the go to WR will be. Our defense played surprisingly well considering that was supposed to be our weak point to start the year. Overall we aren’t there yet, got a lot to work on but I think we will be there come the long haul, just not yet. Having a new QB having to learn a totally new system, along with a young team it’s just going to take time and fortunately we have time until conference starts. These next two game, Shelby and East Forsyth may be too much but hopefully by the Watauga game we will have it all worked out. But who knows maybe Guest will have a huge game this week! 😉 I will say this our special teams are top notch, our kicker hit from 42 last week easily.

AC Reynolds has won two straight over Shelby, 28-21 last year and 45-21 in 2022. Shelby's last win was 15-12 in 2021.

No doubt that both teams have phenomenal RBs in Max Guest for ACR and Tristan Tate for Shelby. Guest had 1,746 yards and 25 TDs rushing, plus 22 catches for 376 yards and 4 TDs receiving in 2022 before being injured almost all of 2023. Last week he rushed for 70 yards against a very good West Fosyth Defense. Tate, for Shelby, had 1,510 yards and 18 TDs rushing last year, plus 22 catches for 379 yards and 6 TDs receiving. I look for both to have big games Friday night.

Both have really big and solid QBs in Ely Hamrick 6'5" 220 for ACR and Lan Farmer 6'3" 215 for Shelby.

As usual, could come down to the kicking game, turnovers and penalties.

My favorite game in this series was the 2015 game at Shelby. Shelby won 56-39, but I saw the most impressive performance I've seen of any Shelby opponent all-time, when Rico Dowdle tried everything possible to win the game for ACR with 271 yards rushing and 5 TDs from the QB position --- also threw for 120 yards. There's a reason he's the back-up RB for the Dallas Cowboys right now. Luckily Shelby's Darquez Lee threw for 481 yards and 5 TDs of his own...and he went on to be QB at both Southen U and Wingate.
