Okay, Okay I admit. I'm off from work today and probably have more time on my hands than I should.
I tried a little experiment. I took my ratings and strength of schedule from Maxpreps. I took the 25 teams from my ratings and noted their Maxpreps strength of schedule. I then ranked the teams from 1 to 25 by strength of schedule. Then I took their strength of schedule ranking and added that to their ranking in my ratings. Then I took that number and divided by 2 and ranked the teams from lowest point total to highest.
For example Team A in my ratings might be ranked 20 (no team in particular. Just for illustration). But, by strength of schedule they may be ranked say 15. That total is 35. I divided that total by 2 to get a point average. So, for team A, their point average would be 17.5. I then ranked teams according to point average.
In addition, I did consider results on the field. Mallard Creek, Butler and Hough remain in their positions because they beat each other. Richmond, Page and Dudley were close. I put Richmond ahead of Dudley due to their win over Dudley and the same with Dudley over Page.
Thoughts?
1. Mallard Creek (8-2)
2. Charlotte Catholic (9-0)
3. Scotland (10-0)
4. Jack Britt (9-1)
5. Butler (8-2)
6. Hough (9-1)
7. East Forsyth (10-0)
8. A.L. Brown (8-2)
