Could one ever image it could be this bad? Thanks Maiden for keeping it from being a total flop. Lincoln County is our daddy three years in a row.

Come on Maiden get this county one win over one of those two Lincoln County teams. I hope I never here the name Surratt or Littlejohn on a Friday night again. Nor Easter, nor Dameron, nor McClain, nor Banks, nor Dollar. May all your future players offspring one day drive Miatas, be stay at home dads, and have a fanny pack.

If you just look at what has been done since 2000. The SD7 should be the best 2A conference in the state. With Maiden as one of the most winning programs historically with tons of tradition. Bandys has two title games. Newton-Conover has three title games and one championship. Lincolnton has three title games and one championship. East Lincoln has three title games and two championships.

Would love to see the conference stick together. It would be something to see if all the programs could get on track.

It used to be a bear of a conference. Bunker Hill was good so was Statesville newton and bandys hibriten west cald and West Iredell always struggled except for a few years.

This is one tough conference thats for sure....

Over the next two years there will most likely be a lot of coaching changes in Catawba County and the unifour area. It also will be strange not hearing the name Surratt on this forum after this year.

One of my most vivid memories of teams in this conference was going to a game at Bunker Hill. It must have been around 1983 or 1984. I made arrangements to get off from work so I could attend. I wasn't there to see the Bears play but to watch North Rowan, a team that was high up in the polls, maybe number one, and whom some believed were unbeatable about that time. Turned out not to be much of a game as Bunker Hill dominated.
Incidentally, Bunker Hill's coach, that season, was none other than Tom Brown of Maiden Fame. He pulled a short stint in Claremont before returning to Maiden.
There was a big crowd.I had to park about what seemed like a half a mile away from the stadium. A man and his family from there had parked behind me and we talked as we walked to the game. I told him I was from Lincolnton. He said he hoped I didn't plan on moving to the area. I promised this cordial soul I would not.
