-assuming Hoggard beats New hanover, if not they still seeded with the 1's but seed will worsen.
- assuming glenn beats west forsyth
4a east is nasty looking
still 2 weeks and other close calls here

Strange to see East Forsyth projected to go east. Still think the Eagles could be a dangerous team if they can get the offense going a little. Will make for some long road trips to do it though.

A lot of teams can b dangerous if they can get their offense going. Up until last week I was losing hope in seeing ours do it, I'm glad I've finally seen a glimpse. At this point of the season either they've got it or they don't it's jus that simple

Defense will be the deciding factor. Most of the teams in the 4A can score at will, but who can stop an offense during the playoffs?
Thats why SC is the favorite. Having White in the backfield is unlike any other back in the East. The defense can be where they are suppose to be and he can still get loose and beat you. Going to have to outscore SC.

Same reason why Harding is the early favorite in the West. Harding is averaging almost 38 pts. a game, and giving up 16-17 per on defense.

Sounds a little like Cape Fear
I hope Hoggard's run defense is as good as CF was last season. Hard to say how good Hoggard is. I will say that their defense is much improved from last season. However, if Hoggard is to make a deep run it will be on the arm of their QB. Jones is 1st in the state in 4A with 25 passing TD,s and 1st in QBR, He is 2nd in comp% and 5th in yards. He has 4 solid WR's and a very good TE. Hoggard isn't built to stop White, he will get his. They will have to outscore SC. Hoggard will have to win 2 games before even thinking about SC. If Hoggard faces Heritage they will be underdogs and have to play great in all 3 phases. If they face Glenn their secondary will be tested. The NH game will tell a lot about their seconday. I hope everyone sleeps on Hoggard. They have a lot of talent.

port, very well said. I watched Hoggard earlier this year and they impressed me especially on defense. Joshua Jones is good, but I think the receivers have been the unsung heroes on the offensive side of the ball. They have a good combination of speed and height (Toudle)... The game I watched Jones threw it up for grabs a couple of times and Toudle came down with it. The kid has a lot of tools. What's word on their big running back #34? Hoggard is going to need him for the New Hanover game and the playoffs.

I think Jones has hit his stride. He wasn't particularly sharp at the beginning of the season. He had some bad misses(for him). He is on the now and Hoggard will go as he goes. Don't look for #34 to play this week against SB. He will be playing against NH unless he has a set back.

Jmac that’s a little hard don’t you think ,
a better prepared team that was were they needed to be all night ,
Scotland may lose this year but not
like that ...

A healthy Heritage team would be the only problem for Scotland based on this projection. A very strong defense against the run, the QB is a D1 QB and makes good decisions. They have a 4 Star RB in Ricky Person BUT he just had wrist surgery. A total of 5 D1 players on Heritage. Their Linebacker has an offer from Michigan State. The D1 DE transferred to Heritage and so did Ricky Person....hmmmm...and a D1Tackle. All five hold D1 offers. Their weakness is in the Def backfield where Middle Creek exposed them with several deep touchdown passes. Person had about 300 yds rushing against MC. This was a 6 point game with 4 minutes left in the game then Person broke off a 60 yard TD run and then MC threw a pic on the next possession that was returned to the MC 15 yd line then Heritage tacked on one more TD against a tired and deflated MC defense. Middle Creek was competitive in this game BUT Heritage was clearly the better overall team. An injured MC team took on Wake Forest next and got mercy ruled. A healthy MC would still have lost big to WF that day. BUT NOT MERCY RULED......I think MC would have lost by no more than 28. WF is the real deal.....WF verse Mallard Creek.....WAR!!! Both teams will come to play and NEITHER will be intimidated by the other...I promise you!! OH......Heritage might go 4AA, they will be right on the line.

if we are saying the cutline is at 1900 then there is a possibility that Wake Forest could possibly be close to that as well right?

cut line not known til u have the 48 qualifiers,
bigggest 24 of those are 4aa, smaller 4a,
split each 24 east/ west geographicly

Why does it matter just lines up and plays football
agreed at the end of the day but it is good speculation. If i'm a coach and i have a championship caliber team and I believe in them I tell them I don't care who we play. It's about us not them. With that being said i will take the path of least resistance - LOL!

JMACDE99 Did you play at Scotland? If so, how many games did y'all win? I think you need to stick with your day job if you have one!! Don't think you have much knowledge in the game of football!!
Well let me see - yes i played we lost in the eastern regional championship ( to an undefeated champion) We were 11-2 that year. One of probably less than 35 players at SC to get a Division 1 scholarship in football. Started multiple years in college and I have an ACC ring! My day job is quite nice (lol!) - not going to talk about my personal life or try to go at yours because it is not pertinent. My knowledge of football is as good as any on this site for whatever that is worth (lol)! Now back to my statement SC thought they were going to beat CF like a drum. I was the only or one of a few SC fan(s) to say CF can and will beat us if we are not ready and what happened we got whipped. I heard everything from they knew the plays to we were looking ahead to Dudley. So I stick by what I said SC didn't know what to do when they were getting hit back in the mouth. We started throwing in the 4th quarter and it was like we had just been introduced to the forward pass. You might not like my statement but those are the facts. Now since you are a SC fan (I assume) I'm not going to have a back and forth with you but you can continue to talk about my day job and football knowledge but the truth hurts. SC has lost to lesser teams because of over confidence, poor in game adjustments and cockiness or complacency (call it what you want to)!

Overhills upset SV last night and they are in great shape to win the conf. That would put S. Cent up to 5th seed and Overhills at 6 seed.
Apex Friendship upset FV which may get them in. That could push Glenn back West. If Glenn goes west and Heritage losses to WF it would push Heritage up to 6 as well as push everyone else up a spot from 2-7.
