What do you all think about the upcoming season in the West who's the 10 ten favorites and who might be a sleeper team next year.just trying to get some knowledge of the 2019 season

What does heritage have coming back? Shelby reidsville are 1 and 2 you guys decide what order for that.
3rd south point
4th Randleman they could go east or west big or small
5th hibriten
6th mountain heritage
7th North Davidson likely go east though
I’m not sure if it’s anyone else mentioning as of right now. There are a few sleepers such as thomasville.

North Davidson’s only chance of advancing is if we were to stay in the east. Even this year, i think we’d have exited in the 3rd round at best if we’d have been in the West.

Salisbury is a team to watch out for also Anson co, those 2 could be the surprise of 2019. Hoping Shelby somehow goes 2a.

I heard how young salisbury was last year. They could be a team that can go to the 3rd round.
North and Ledford will have competition next year in conference.

I wouldn’t sleep on North Lincoln. Went from a 2 win team last year to almost winning conference and going 3rd round this year with A LOT returning WITH a one loss JV team this year. Greatly coached and motivated team and program. They may be ok they may fall, just havta see.

Maiden is no joke either. East Lincoln also improved. This is just for the far west though.

To be honest it's hard to say right now what kind of team Heritage will have in 2019 we do return our QB our best linebacker and one of our best receivers but we lose a lot across the line of scrimmage but we do have one of the very best coaches so we will see what happens maybe Heritage 84 can give a better opinion of Heritage 2019 outlook he's a lot closer to the program than I am

Does anybody know if Brevard will be competive next year they sure did play well this year and does anyone know if they still have Heritage on schedule or was it just a 2 year contract..

Reidsville will be tough. We had a lot of young talent grow up before our eyes this year from what I hear. The Middle School team is also loaded from everything I have read. This may have been the year to beat Reidsville if you were going to do it in small 2A.

Thomasville is my dark horse for 2019.
Thanks for the confidence, Wolf4Lyfe. Any success we have will depend on the numbers. We can’t go far with 25 players dressed out.
Many people probably don’t realize that the Coaches Brown (father and son) had huge success in no small part because they rarely ever played anyone both ways on a regular basis. Even in 1A, they developed their players and two-platooned. They put their best players on defense and built around the rest. Occasionally a player would play spot duty in critical situations on the other side of the ball. They counted on being better conditioned and usually were. I recall one particular team whose coach knew that the only way to stay in the game with the Bulldogs was to get regular timeouts by faking leg cramps consistently. Worked multiple years.
Thomasville won’t be able to two platoon, but can’t be successful with eighty percent of their players going both ways. The numbers in August will tell a lot about the future. But I’ll be surprised if we’re there yet. Too much disparity in student population in our conference.

I'm wondering about Hendersonville does anybody know if they will be playoff worthy in 2019 i don't think they are many Bearcat posters on here that's a shame because they have year in and year out more talent than any other 2a team in the mountains if they would put some time in on the defensive side of the ball they would be tough to beat on offence at the skill positions they have been just as good as any team My Heritage has played the last few years we have beat them keeping there offence off the field..

Reidsville being down a little was still better than the rest of 2a teams they had the most complete team Chris Hughes gave them the number1 overall ranking in 2 a and 2 in his final 2018 poll he's seen all the teams play so if you have to lose its not as heartbreaking to go down to the best team

Brevard loses a lot of good players off this years team . I think they will be down a little, they also are well coached and should be a solid team by the end of the year! Qb was a senior and all their starting receivers

OC, are you talking about Cummings or High Point Andrews regarding the cramping?

Neither. We haven't played Cummings in a long time, and Andrews unfortunately didn't need those tactics. They simply kicked our rear ends.
I'll just say that fans of other teams have complained on these threads about the team doing the same to them. I saw it on jv and varsity over multiple years. They're either the worst physically prepared team in history or have been coached to use the tactic to slow their opponents'momentum.

Do you think you’d have been better off in the other conference that the NCHSAA had originally placed you in? I don’t think those schools had as large of an ADM in general.

I couldn’t agree with you more about the two platoon issue. When Dickie Cline brought that concept to North Davidson in 1991, it changed the way we looked at things and brought immediate success for a period of time. The current coaching staff at ND didn’t subscribe to that theory this year and they won’t have the same level of talent next year to enjoy. They’ll win, probably a lot... and if they go into the East, they’ll win some more... I think they could lose twice before hitting the playoffs. I think their two non-conference games are Davie and Mt. Tabor again. Lose to Tabor, beat Davie and slip up once in conference.

Absolutely not on the other conference. And I'm not complaining about the size difference. We're just essentially a 1A school playing 2A. That's about demographics but it's reality and won't change for the better. If Coach Robertson can get another twenty kids out on the field, we'll be okay. It's just hard to do from a population of a little over six hundred kids. Our percentage of kids playing probably isn't that much less than other conference schools. But it's a lot easier when you have 1100 kids than with 600.
As to the other conference, it would have killed us financially. It would also have forced us into a rivalry that is toxic for both schools. Nobody in Thomasville wanted that, and I hope it never happens.

Pisgah loses nine kids on defense.four offensive linemem,Our JV's went undefeated,QB will be a junior.RB that was out most of last year should be back. With Murphy, Tuscola and Mountain Heritage,non-conference we will know a lot more about the Bears after that.

Ya I understand that but Chris Hughes knows the teams he's seen them all play and Simmions also does a great job doing there polls, but I was a little surprised to see Chris have Reidsville ranked #1 overall if you look at all the top teams in 2a and 2aa they were pretty close even Shelby had trouble at the first of the year and Reidsville won 3 strait dog fights to win the 2a champion they can be a strong case argued for both teams being #1 its like the AP poll and Coaches poll back in the day where you would end up with two national championships teams in college football

Glad to see Heritage and Pisgah play next season this should be an old fashion dog fight but I would make Pisgah as of now the favorite we lost a lot along the line of scrimmage next year might be the youngest team Heritage has fielded in awhile but if we can find someone to replace Jake Autetys production in the back field we should be decent..

In my opinion, it was just him picking an undefeated team over a team with losses on its record, I saw his poll, but didn’t see any comments of him giving his analysis or opinion of who he thought was the best overall team. He gave his rankings in every division, though. My man must’ve caught all of those games via satellite or something. Impressive, nonetheless, that he saw all the teams play.

I do believe Chris Hughes ever week was at what he believed to be one of the best games in the state if you follow his ranking he did not have Pisgah or Randleman ranked about teams that were not better than them like Max preps or other sites that rank teams did if you had used Chris's ranking to set the playoff we would not have Randleman or Pisgah as #1 seeds Reidsville should have been the top seed in 2a and Hirbriten in 2aa witch Chris aignoliged, so what does Hudl have to do with it
