Going from nowhere to #9 by beating Dixon ... If we beat Croatan might get to ....who knows
The South Fork conference weeps!
It’s all good. That will be taken care of down the road.Hold on...
Why???
Oh well...😂😂😂
Hello Lincolnton! Hoping all is well for you. Big win for the Wolves....lot of sick Red Devils up my way. I must agree....that North Lincoln should win the South Fork again and the rest of us are fighting for 2nd place. Maiden has a HUGE game this week with West Lincoln followed by another HUGE game with North Lincoln. I’m not ready yet.... hope the Boom Devils are!My Catawba County neighbor, you're right, we didn't get much consideration. I just learned yesterday from reading the Lincolnton paper that Newton-Conover had us down 13-0, late into the third quarter. That kind of worries me, but I'm glad we managed to come back. I don't think the South Fork conference is as weak as some might think...Sometimes, it's more comfortable not being ranked.
Newton-Conover was ranked 13th, but after losing to us they fell out of this poll...North Lincoln was ranked eighth and beat West Lincoln 10-7. According to the radio station they have football players on their basketball team who is still in the playoffs, and they fell out of the poll, but they lost some key people from last year to graduation.
If the North Lincoln football players who are on their basketball team can play football like they can play basketball (NL 87-Shelby 56, last week in quarterfinals) they'll beat all of us, again. Last year, North beat Lincolnton 42-7, but I'm counting on that not happening.
An acquaintance who is a Knight's fan proudly told me, last season, "It's our time". Besides North, West beat us 54-14 and East beat us 10-7. I do hate being at the bottom of the barrel in Lincoln County. Maybe this year.
Congrats on the win over Bandys.
Lincolnton, my man. Never would have figured you for a Janis Joplin fan. Scott Joplin perhaps. Or Kristofferson. Though Kris and Janis walked some of the same paths. My Catawba County neighbor, you're right, we didn't get much consideration. Chalk it up to it's just a weird season. This is going to come off as petty. So be it. Ratings and rankings for the most part are opinion. And I’ve got one as well. Chris here is the part I don’t understand. South Point falls to the #3 ranked team in the state by one point and moves from unranked to # 16. Fail I’ve got no problem with that. Then SWO beats the (according to MaxPreps) # 99 team in the state and goes from unranked themselves to # 9. I just don’t get it. Not saying your wrong Chris, I just don’t get it.
I really expected a couple of SWO posters to comment on my previous post in this thread.
