I figured I would start this thread to talk about NE, WRH, SWO, Clinton, SWE and other playoff 2A east contending teams. (looking at you Otis and West Craven) Wether your team is one of the mentioned or a low seeded team that may squeak in. Who would be a good round 1 matchup for your team? Are you looking for that tough team with the high seed? Or maybe your team needs a cupcake first round to help get some players back or to just get some confidience against a low seed? Or damn it, your team will be the undisputed champ no doubt, will take on all comers, and have already booked a private jet to Winston-Salem in December! Did your non conference schedule this season help or hurt your team prepare for the playoffs this season? I know some of the teams mentioned had a harder row to plow than others. Give us the cold hard truth on what you really believe your team has this year for the playoffs?????

I like the DarkHorses' chances
I like the Darkhorses chances too. I think you guys put together a very balanced schedule that gave the team alot of different looks. Yet, careful to put the team in games where they could be challenged in non conference where the odds were really 50/50 to get the win. Like the Northside-Jax game. Even with Kaba out the Clinton coaches have done great job with this team and should feel good closing out the season and on to the playoffs, In my opinion.

Just one game at a time. Then on to the next one.
Some would say that's a bit cliche, but looking at how the 2A east is shaping up from top to bottom seeds that's exactly what teams must do. Not alot of easy outs from what I've seen in the projections.

it is cliche but true. Each team is one loss away from elimination. Focus on the now, not the future.

I think that holds true for the 2A east this year more than previous years. It will be interesting to see how the seeding shakes out. If SWE beats a 8-2 Beddingfield team tomorrow night if they go small 2A not sure they don't have a claim for #1 seed.

It didnt hurt. we came out relatively healthy. our guys got hurt in conference play.
I understand that, but as a former player, and having family members that play, I can attest to the fact that nagging injuries that don't necessarily put you on the sidelines after a physical game can lead to other injuries for over compensation of that nagging injury. Sometimes an injury like back spasms can effect lower body technique. One could argue going into tough conference play (like the dogs have) banged up can have a huge effect on the outcome of games and lead to more injuries. I'm of the opinion that there is a fine balance of testing your team in spots yet throwing in some games that give your work horses time to rest. I know alot of other fans and coaches see this differently

My team will not be in the playoffs but from the way it looks Clinton is the favorite in the East. First time they will have home field advantage in playoffs since the train wreck NSJ put on them back in 2016. Clinton will be extremely tough to knock out.

i can go with that. To bad were not in SWOs conference. lol.

We got a little banged up at first, but with like you said our conference let us get lots of rest and not have to play the starters much. Hope we come out all right tonight going into the playoffs.

I like our chances team has been focused, hungry, and have rallied around a tough injury to a star player we seem to be peaking at the right time.....just gotta be 1-0 every week for the next couple weeks cause starting next week everyone is 0-0

It's been a while since I have been up here but I have seen Clinton and they are too one dimensional to beat the good teams with a good defense.

They definitely know how to run the ball I will give you that. When Clinton played JK they practiced throwing the ball a little bit. Clinton has a big athlete that can catch if they have to throw. But they may be able to literally run all the way to Winston-Salem.

Clinton had 198 yards of offense against Wallace. Wallace had 316. Clinton's best player is done for the year. Wallace's best player will be back. Don't count the Dogs out just yet.

The Dogs have been counted out. Y’all don’t have the team this year I am sorry. WRH has had a hell of a run one that y’all should always be proud of. A run few teams in the state will ever be able to replicate. But the dynasty at Wallace is officially OVER.

We have to be more balanced to win it all, but I’d say WRH is a good defense and how many passes did we complete to win that game?

"Tell us how you're feeling"

Northeastern to the ship!!
Not one 2a team in the east would be w/o two losses minimum with the schedule that out kids have played.
Lock it up, I'm not one to shy away from how I feel. Everyone up here knows that I am very confident and 100% believe that Northeastern is the best team in the east. I know that we will be entering the playoffs with all our kids fresh and ready to go. We have been benefactors of a weak conference schedule which has given our star qb plenty of time to heal up. Coach said last week he is 100% and is raring to get back in action. Look for him to return in 2 weeks for our second rd game. I know most people up here feel the same way I do about their teams chances to win it all but just don't express their true feelings in fear of other posters thinking they're being to cocky or what not. That's not me, I honestly believe my Eagles are the best team in the east once again and if we happen to lose then I'll be just fine with that. In the end I'm going to pull for whoever emerges out of the east, whether it be West Craven or Red Springs. I will stand behind them 1000% when they go to the ship!!! Best of luck to almost all the teams in the east, it's going to be one hell of a playoffs this year.

Why is my nose itching goob ............ :D

#1 you know how much I like you and your posts up here. Your a straight up class act and I love mixing it up with you. That aside, you know how I feel about the swo crowd. Obviously you've seen the negative posts that were directed at our posters up here last year. It got really out of hand at one point and it even carried over to the actual game that was played in EC when the swo fans tried to have myself and Otis thrown out of the game. Your nose was itching for all the right reasons and I knew you'd catch that, lol!!

How bout West Craven tonight! I don't know the particulars of the game yet, but it's a great impressive win nonetheless!

Nah the mighty bears just took the night off to get ready for the playoffs. They just let us win. Haven't you heard??
Seriously our defense is playing at a really high level. If we can stop turning the ball over we should be able to win a few more games. I told a few of our kids last week after beating Washington that the conf title wouldn't really mean anything to us if we turn around and lose to New Bern which is 4A and a non conference game. You want to enter the playoffs winning!! Beating New Bern tonight felt like a playoff game. Bear season came in a few hours early this year.

We felt bad for you guys after the shutout to Havelock, had to make ya'll feel a little better. Tell the kids to listen to Taurance, he knows what it takes to get to the promise land.

Coach Nowell wanted to win this game as much as West Craven did. I don't think "playing to lose" is acceptable for him. Both teams had something to play for and it showed judging by the 1 point win. I'm not convinced either team didn't want this one to solidify their playoff seeding. This game just poured more gas on a rivalry. Now playoffs await and both teams are in good positions. Been a good showing this season for both of these teams no matter what happens from here in my opinion!! Both of ya'll are playing with house money!!lol

Clintons offense and defense are playing well heading into playoffs. Still our Achilles heel is Kickoff coverage, but I’m sure we can get that figured out, I hope lol. Go horses!
