23 October Game Of The Week

I think it will be a really good game, but I doubt many think the Eagles have a chance. EB has been plagued with injuries the last 3 weeks. Our leading rusher at the time, Eian Hines (#12), suffered an ankle injury in the Midway game and hasn't played since. His brother Ethan (#21) had an injury keep him out of the Pender and Trask games, and Nikita Owens (#11) was injured in the Clinton game and didn't dress against Pender either. So thats our 3 best backs sidelined. But the coaching staff and players have responded wonderfully to all of the adversity. They made a switch at QB, by inserting Coates (#1) and moving McMillian (#7) to RB (he is also battling a leg injury). Coates has thrown the ball really well since the change (averaging around 100 yards). I think the added threat of a pass was desperately needed, teams might be a little more reluctant to stack the box now.

With that being said, if the Hines twins are healthy, I believe the Eagles have a shot at pulling out the win. Not trying to discount Tatum (#3) and Robinson (#22), they have carried the ball excellently, but the Hines twins add another dynamic when they're in the backfield together. WRH is as tough as it gets, and we'll have to play much better defense on the edges than we displayed against Clinton. They have stud athletes in Canady and Glaspie that can shred you if you don't show good containment D. EB has the size advantage, so we have to try and force the Dogs to run inside.

Going to be interesting, but I have confidence in our Eagles!

I liked the fact that Coach Priest kept your top players out this past game to get some extra time to heal. No sense in putting them in a game tat EB was sure to win anyway. EB has a very good shot of beating W-RH.

Definitely, the coaching staff has done wonderfully. Pender and Trask couldn't have come at a better time in the schedule. Provided some time to get healthy and experiment with the gameplan.

There is only one game I'm aware of with two undefeated, top 5 in AP poll, 2A teams this week and that's Kinston vs Greene Central.
