A lot of unbalanced brackets. 2A East boys especially bad with Farmville, Kinston, Reidsville, and South Granville all in the same side of the bracket. That’s four teams with about the same number of ACC signees as losses between them. Some really good teams and players going to be going home 2d and 3d round.

Shelby and RS possible play in 2nd round? They have one loss each and that was to each other. Horrible

That is like North Stanly and Pine Lake...Christ the King and Mount Airy...Mountain Island and Chatham Charter. Some of these teams could make a deep run and now one of them is going home first round. I still can't believe the state thought this was a good idea and the only idea. I know we are in an unprecedented year, but it wouldn't have taken long to use MaxPreps rankings and do it the right way. Seems to me that something is in the cooker that MaxPreps may be out the door. The only thing I could think of but the decision to move forward with this format was silly at best.

I don’t know that I’d call the end for using MaxPreps, I just think there’s just a good argument that their algorithm wouldn’t be as reliable in a year when people didn’t play much outside their conferences. Kind of hard to put in a system for a year like this...unless you do the logical thing (like GA, SC, and TN) and set a number of conferences (8 or 16) that easily multiplies into the number of teams in a bracket.

Yeah, that sucks they all have to play each other so early. I believe those are the 4 best teams in the east as well.

Pamlico Girls went undefeated and won their conference for the eighth strait year. Unfortunately they had there season ended due to COVID. This virus sucks.
