2017-21 1A & 2A Realignment Proposal Not by NCHSAA

First of all, these are not the NCHSAA's proposed conferences; those have not come out yet. The proposals are by an individual not associated with the NCHSAA. Secondly, most of this has been discussed on these threads for several weeks.

Not an NCHSAA proposal. OT site proposal and a very bad attempt at it. Six, seven, eight, ten teams in 2A alone. Lots of 1a and 2a combo conferences. Not even going to be a consideration by NCHSAA.

I caught that after going back to NCHSAA website. They just used their NCHSAA logo. This one looks as bad as SimmonsRatings for our local conferences !

NCHSAA should do football conferences separate from other sports. Don't have split conferences. 6-8 teams in a conference. That cuts travel considerations to 3-4 games at most. Compose conferences for rest of sports with travel in mind since the rest play home and away and many games on school nights. The only sport that you hear a lot of complaints about split conferences is football. I know JV football teams could have a long trip on a school night, but max of 4 times and nothing is going to be perfect with the geography you have in NC.

I find it interesting that alot of the models show "keeping Counties together" for some, but not for others, example 2A, why keep the Burke County schools and the Lincoln County Schools, but not the Catawba county schools...just wondering
Usually, the person doing such conferences which split up same classification county schools doesn't understand the realignment process completely and the politics of it and the geography of the state. The person who did the ones at HSOT is not familiar with the western schools; he had two mountain schools that do not play football in a 6 team conference (virtually creating a 4 member conference- a no-no) from something I read elsewhere analyzing his proposal.
