East Bladen (10-3) came out on fire, returning the opening kickoff 80yds for the score, and remained hot for the entire 1st quarter, leading the home team 14-13 after one. But after the adrenaline wore off, SWE (12-1) went on a 28-0 run to put the Eagles at rest in the nest by the score of 41-21 in this second round matchup.
I felt like both teams were going in opposite directions over the last month of the season, and showed. EB looked to be struggling while SWE has been clicking. However, I do see why EB won 10 games this season. They weren't a bad looking team.

SWE 13 15 13 0 = 41
EB 14 0 0 7 = 21

EB couldn't had asked for a better start to the game Friday night but just didn't have an answer for Williams. The killer was the score right before halftime and then the score just minutes into the 3rd quarter. That pretty much put the cherry on the pie for SWE. Although we got behind in the 3rd quarter, the guys showed heart and didn't quit and fought all the way until the end. For that, I am proud of them. SWE has a really good team that is loaded with Seniors. They have just as good a chance to win it as anyone. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they did. I will say you might have your hands full Friday night with Fairmont but if their defense is what it used to be, ya'll should have no problem. Congrats to the cougars and good luck the rest of the way.
