The best "prospect" on the field was #21 Ray Durham for Harding. Think he was a sophomore. He played 14 years MLB and made two all star teams.
Lawing was a small QB. Went on to play baseball at App State.
Harding would win the 4A baseball title that spring. Impressive accomplishment just being in the title game as Harding was a relatively small 4A school with less than 1,400 students. South Meck and East Meck were the largest Meck schools then with about 2,300 which led to the opening of Providence.
