Grimsley at Weddington on Black Friday

You can have a record of dominance in the playoffs and not win with dominance. Those are two separate things. Grimsley playoff record reflects dominance absolutely. No one has to win with dominance though just win!! Playoffs is about survival be it by 1 or 100.

    Hough at Grimsley: 3rd Round

EF is done and Tabor is at Butler. That's it in our area I believe.

    East Forsyth VS Independence

My nephew was on the 21 defense. They were pretty good. I understand the stats as well. It's enough room to appreciate everyone's contributions to the program. Maybe we can get another championship run before too long. JV looks promising.

    Hough at Grimsley: 3rd Round

It was only those 2. A couple others I'm hearing may leave because they have a lot returning along with the undefeated JV who was as big but more athletic than the varsity. Some kids don't want to wait to play. The 2 Grimsley got was a different situation.

    East Forsyth VS Independence

I beg to differ that the units got better after those coaches left. At best they maintained the level of success but nowhere did I see where they got better. All these coaches were instrumental in getting the D to the dominance it enjoyed and I wish someone would come in to help return it to...

    East Forsyth VS Independence

The RB for Indy was an absolute stud. Was waiting for him to slow down and look up in 4th quarter and he's running as hard as he was in the 1st. EF didn't appear to be interested in tackling him either. EF left 14 pts on two turnovers 1st and goal both times. Second turnover was a scoop and...

    East Forsyth VS Independence

From what I understand what took him away from football had nothing to do with the game. He comes to games on sideline but that's it. Who kmows? Things change all the time for people. Very good man though.

    East Forsyth VS Independence

Will try to say this without discrediting anyone. Beal was Co DC with Jones. They also had Gill and Crump who all had been DC at other places. EF basically had 4 DC on sideline during that time. He was never the coordinator exclusively during their run. Beal ran exclusively zone which got...

    East Forsyth VS Independence

I got it close too. Watching Indy on film doesn't make me think EF is running away with it. I'll take it close as well. I concur with CPC.

    East Forsyth VS Independence

Before Beal EF defense was formidable. The 12 defense that gave Butler fits was one of it's finest. It's a misconception EF defense took off when Beal came. Their defense was already competitive before he came. EF took off once they opened up the offense to compliment the defense.

My brother played on that team. I remember not feeling comfortable even with that lead for some strange reason. Murphys Law arrived in full effect....what could go wrong definitely did. It happened so fast it seemed. Those were the days before EF believed they could play with those schools...

#19 Mt Tabor at #3 Mooresville

That RB was getting some tough runs against Grimsley. He's tough as nails.

    East Forsyth VS Independence

It won't be the offense that does EF in if they lose. The defense while making incremental improvements needs to go to another level going forward. I hope the D atleast bends but doesn't break giving them a chance. D becomes more profound the deeper run you make usually.

East Forsyth @ West Forsyth for The Outright CPC Championship

Don't know if I've ever seen a team try and give a game away EF (5 turnovers) and still score 45 points? Both teams strengths were on display offensively. It never looked like EF lost composure while trailing. Looked like EF expected to win regardless. Another classic in this rivalry.

    CPC

I believe WF has a better than average chance of winning but they're not 35-7 better than EF. They struggle with a good 2A Oak Grove and lost to a Reagan team that EF beat. Common opponents isn't the most reliable way to predict future outcomes but nothing on WF schedule indicates they're...

    CPC

Because it's the CPC no way anyone should make any predictions. No prediction is safe. Having said that EF is susceptible to the run which WF does well. Haven't seen WF but I understand they're not the toughest pass D. If that is the case it will come down to who can impose their will on the...

    CPC 10/13

I watched them against EF. NCHSAA does them no favors keeping them in 4A. They'd be better served 2A or below with numbers. They've vastly improved the culture there and Sharpe is a good people.
