Highland Academics

I know Highland takes a beating on these boards for their attempts at fielding a football team; but wanted to give some credit to their high standards of academics.

Highland was recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report and ranked within the top 2.4% of all high schools across the nation; a list of over 18,000 schools.

In addition, North Carolina released School Report Cards for all schools in the state and Highland has the highest score; 100, of all 2714 schools in the state.

And yesterday, the U.S. Department of Education announced that Highland is 1 of 353 schools in the country to be a Blue Ribbon School; the highest recognition given to schools by the Gov't.

I thought this was worth sharing.

Jk back to the drawing board, we have to come out swinging after this bye week. Defense has improved, but it seems as if the offense has taken a step back. Might be time to call up a few guys from a stacked jv team.

Carver Football!!!

Listen I know alot of people are probably saying I'm getting on their nerves about Carver but this can't get any worse I hope. After a disappointing 32-8 drubbing last week to Christ the King, the Carver Yellow Jackets are turning around to face Bishop McGuinness this week at home. I have a lot of concerns about this game. The first concern is have the kids given up on the season and the second major concern is have they giving up on this HORRIBLE COACHES STAFF. I know Bishop has gotten better but the Yellow Jackets of Carver are still the bottom feeders this year. Their offense finally found the End Zone last week against CTK. This game will determine if they will even get a glimpse of playoff hope. After this game their going down Murders Row. Bishop this week, Community School of Davidson 9-29, Covian Community 10-6, Pine Lake Prep 10-13 and then Mountain Island Charter on 10/20 before they end the season with Winston Salem Prep who has more wins then us already smh. When I say this I mean it with my WHOLE HEART. IF THEY DON'T WIN THIS WEEK, THE WHOLE STAFF SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!!!!

Jaleel Mclaughlin/Forest Hills/Denver Broncos

Jaleel Mclaughlin former Forest Hills RB rushed for his first regular season TD today against the Washington Commanders. Unfortunately they lost 35-33 to two fellow Union County stars in starting QB Sam Howell from Sun Valley and WR Jameson Crowder from Monroe who's returned to the Commanders this season. 3 great Union County stars.
