Keep in mind that the current board was elected and took office in December. In the first six months they had four superintendents. The board has been very actively and directly involved in almost everything in the system including many things that would usually be done at the superintendent or school level.
If you’re implying that I have an agenda, I do. It’s the hope that next year there will be more candidates for school board and that they will be qualified and intent on doing what’s best for students. Five candidates for five seats is a travesty. Especially when one of them is accused of a felony financial crime. And in case you’re wondering, I live in the city limits but not the district, so could not run for that board.
The openings that were announced much earlier than the job postings were the AD and football coach. I don’t know about the timing of the others except that several apparently decided to leave when mandated to get a CDL and drive an activity bus.
