2-0 Weddington @ 2-0 West Forsyth

West Forsyth O- Line vs Weddington D-Line will be a great watch…. These two teams are huge, West feels like they have the best O-Line in the State and nobody is more thankful than Parkland QB transfer sensation Riley Horton. Horton is big, humble, thankful and a tremendous athlete who can run & throw. He amassed some great stats at Parkland running for his life. He’s flying under the radar as one of the best QBs in this area. Horton played in front of the biggest crowd in his career and was very nervous before the game, then went on to throw 3 TDs, run for another but to listen to the emotional humble guy who kept on talking about the crowd size. He’s been through a lot at Parkland.; Never played in big games and never really won before, makes you appreciate the new found success.

AC Reynolds vs Shelby

Minus the turnovers I still think ACR wins, more like 28-21

They'll be competitive in 3A est.
So you think Shelby would not have made any points on the the possessions where they made a turnover (possessions would have changed on downs). And you are saying AC would have made few points off those stops on downs. AC, likely, would have made some points (TD's or FG's) on the possessions which ultimately ended with a Shelby turnover. Makes no sense. Either way, it is unknown and unknowable.

Cleveland County

It was on Burns sideline in front on the Coach..
To your point the flag wasn’t thrown by crowd or coach reaction. Goodson made contact to the chest with both hands but as Mcswain was coming down from the jump Goodsons hands brushed by the helmet. I guess the ref thought the hands went to the head. It sucks because that was a huge momentum change with the turnover but it’s early in the season and refs tend to get flag happy. I think in the jamboree Crest got an 8 yard penalty. The first drive for Burns tonight is all that matters at this point as a fan. If we can score right then we have a game but both teams needed to make adjustments and I’m sure they did. Rare situation to have another half days later but we cannot control the weather.

Cleveland County

It’s one of the issues that I have with a lot of the officiating I see, you shouldn’t anticipate fouls or throw your flag if you didn’t actually observe the foul being committed. Many officials throw flags based off crowd, sideline, or players reactions without ever seeing the penalty being actually committed. Pass interference and targeting are the calls officials get wrong the most because of crowd and sideline reactions.

Starmount

Too much moving probably, but I would like if Swain could play Hayesville this week instead of their 10/11 game. Hayesville has a second game against Andrews and the first of two is this week, and Starmount play Hayesville on 10/11. It would leave Andrews without a 10th game, but wouldn't be playing the same conference team twice. They might be able to pick up a TN or GA team. Wishful thinking. Andrews had a bye this week, could have played Andrews after NI refused. Might be to late for that now though.
Not a bad idea. Just a couple of problems as I see it. Andrews could never find someone to schedule on this short a notice. If they couldn't it would give them consecutive bye weeks. In another post I saw were Swain's QB was hurt and expected to be out 4-6 weeks. He might be back for the 10/11 game. Either way I bet the Devils don't want to play a conference game with a QB making his first start.

Tarboro vs North Edgecombe

Much respect to coach Murphy and what he is trying to build at North but they just don’t have the kids right now to compete. As the original poster pointed out, this use to be a game that many looked forward too but unfortunately it hasn’t been that way in a while. I’d be completely okay with dropping this game. I cannot imagine it’s a good gate anyway. With that said, another long night for the warriors.

Cleveland County

I didn’t see helmet to helmet either and I’m being unbiased about the situation. He’s a runner not s passer at the point he was throwing and there was no helmet to helmet. Glad someone had a clear view from video as some just want to assume it was helmet to helmet. Call wasn’t justified as some your own fans said so. We’ll see how both teams adjust tomorrow night. Hope to make it to see how it turns out.

Denied access to NIL

Then why doesn’t she just enroll her son in a private school instead of potentially opening up a can of worms where they may use her as a scapegoat to investigate heavily into things.

The TE from Reidsville had zero problems “cashing in” on those rules. I’m obviously no official or lawyer but I do feel she will spend a ton of money to literally get the same answer she gets now.

Money is unlimited for the state, they can continue this until her son is graduated and gone. But will have a stack of lawyers and court fees that needs paid for.
I have also considered the court fees, which can be quite substantial. Regardless of whether one parent or both reside in the household, there are considerable financial obligations associated with these fees.

Tarboro vs Hertford County

Your points are valid, but you also don't want to make your schedule so tough that you end up with a couple of L's. Tarboro has benefited greatly from being the #1 seed and having the easiest path and home field advantage. Putting super tough games on the schedule and collecting losses would affect their playoff seed, giving them tougher games early in the playoffs. It's a delicate situation and just depends on what's more important to the program. High playoff seed and home field, or preparation vs tougher early season opponents? I don't see a problem with them playing HC. They aren't a bad program. And also, a lot of teams just won't play them. But I understand your points.
If Tarboro just so happens to have two L’s, I still believe they’ll have the #1 seed in the east

Tarboro vs Hertford County

Yes, I realize that. My whole point is that if a team gets tested and punched in the mouth a few times early in the season, they are more ready to face some adversity and bounce back from being down come playoff time. If I was a head coach, I wouldn't want the first time my team felt being in a close game and some tough competition being in the third/fourth round of the playoffs. I would want them to feel that in August and September.

Tarboro vs Hertford County

Those two games will be Tarboro's toughest all season. I'm expecting them to come out 1-1, but 0-2 is very plausible. If they come out 2-0, I wouldn't be able to see how Mt. Airy or anyone else would be able to stop them.
Just giving the young men a hard time. I know both of those teams are very good and it’s hard to get teams down thataway to play them because of Tarboro’s success. ER hasn’t had the pleasure ever I don’t believe and not sure it will happen before realignment. All their fans, ok 99.5% appear to be level headed, realistic supporters.
Us ER guys, on the other hand, are the reason for the word FANATIC!!

Forsyth County Transfer???

I’m not sure how Hartle got into Reagan legally but he did. I will say this, in the last 3 years Reagan hasn’t got any “WSFCS choice” transfers for academics/athletics. Reagan is considered “Full” and only kids that live within the Reagan district gets in, besides a few employee kids.
The offensive lineman at Notre Dame Pendleton lived in the North Stokes district. Don't blame him for going to Reagon. Also couple players from Starmount

It’s Labor Day. Old guy didn’t have to work so he’s reading up a little 😂
