CVAC 2024 - Week 3 💯

Please be careful. Mr. Lincolnton!
Cheerduck, thank you my friend. Those of us who have a jogging routine incur certain risks, like irritable and careless drivers, sudden changes in the weather, and a few of us who, well actually, I’m the only one I know of, got reported as a possible absconder from the nursing home, and then there is of course, dogs.
Cannot understand for the life of me why people want dogs with a bad disposition. This past Sunday a lady had a Yorkshire terrier on a leash and it almost got my ankle. She acted surprised saying “Fruitfly, what is your problem.” Like she didn’t know. She’d taught it to be an ankle biter

There’s another one, I’m not going to describe the dog because the owner reads these boards, and actually he is a pretty good guy, other than to say it’s a big dog, but that snapping snarling thing is going to hurt somebody. It looks like a jack-in the-box dipping over their fence trying to bite me.

I would never try to hurt a dog unless it was to avoid serious injury, but if one of them does happen to bite me, it will perish, quickly, to emphasize, I would not hurt one of them, but my genetics are such that they would make a cottonmouth snake appear noble as an eagle…Best as I can remember, a microliter is about what you’d see if you dipped the point of a sewing needle in ink. Should one of these dogs ingest that much of my blood it would just as well have lapped up arsenic sauce or been bit by a cobra. It would be like the old Mountain Dew slogan “It’ll tickle your innards.” I can say with confidence that a medicine dropper of my hemoglobin would pollute lake Hickory. ..Didn’t mean to ramble on. Appreciate you letting me vent a little.
Thank you again, my friend. I’ll surely try to be careful. :)

Tarboro vs North Edgecombe

Other than the Vikings, there's no elite competition in 1a ball in the East. I'd work something out with Planet Fitness or another gym if I had to for my players in Rocky Mount. I'd drop Tarboro and SWE and play Halifax schools to pad my wins until I was ready to go into the deep end of the pool. Get my kids confidence up by winning and build excitement in the school, and more importantly the parents. And when you win the parents, and have hungry kids, you will win. Not necessarily against Tarboro, but then all I need to be is in the opposite side of the bracket come playoff time to set up the "big game" in the county. It's not too hard to be the 2nd best team in 1a ball in the East right now.
Wilson Prep is on its way to being the second best 1A team. But then again, being a prep school is cheating. Don't know why RM Prep is so terrible.

Tarboro vs North Edgecombe

Idk NE would be a hard sell. They have no resources. With the demerger they have players that live 30 minutes away from the school. They didn’t have a weight room a few years ago.

I just feel like NE would be a hard place for anybody to win at these days.

South Iredell vs Statesville

Personally i feel Hickory is now Statesville's biggest rival. Statesville should win going away
One thing about it. Looking back last year Hickory who was 3A State Champions who only beat Statesville by 16. I consider that not bad. I do believe Statesville will be and has shown they are better team this year. Two matchups I look for is when Statesville plays East Lincoln and plays Hickory.

Forest Hills (1-1) @ Walkertown (2-0)

They beat Salisbury by two touchdowns Monday night, who most polls had in the top 5 in 2A. I guess we don't know yet if Salisbury is way down this year. Forest Hills will tell Walkertown a lot about where they are.

If they manage to hang onto their new coach (Tripp Honeycutt), expect them to improve over the next couple of years. He's the kind of coach that kids want to play for and can turn a program around.
Sounds like the current coach we have at Forest Hills (Jammie Deese).

Tarboro vs North Edgecombe

Head coach...for sure, but that's the dog in me. Ricky has learned from some of the best coaches in the state, including Cobb. He knows, or should know, how to run a program. I think he would do well at NE if he had the opportunity. I believe he would restore pride and have them competitive sooner rather than later.

I don't follow Walkertown all that closely. I recall they had some success when they first opened and the few years after that. Then had a lot of years where they did not do much. I know they are 2-0 but I would expect FH to roll in this one. I can't believe in Walkertown until they beat a team like FH or at least play them close until the end.

Would you rather be the OC at Tarboro or the HC at NE?
