Man oh man, where to start.......
I'll start with the Cards. They're legit, folks. They are, BY FAR, the most athletic team ER has faced. To me, they looked like a scaled-down version of East Forsyth. Might as well have been called Corvette Community cause they had some speedsters. No offense, but it does look like someone from Corvian went around to all the 4A schools in Charlotte and asked "Any of you guys interested in playing 1A? I think we can do something special.".
The Cards definitely used that edge on athleticism to their advantage. Big plays and forced fumbles: That's how Corvian won this game. Kelvin Stinson's pick six, AJ Jackson's hit that forced that third fumble, the beautifully executed blocking that sprung Noah Best for his TD run down the left side, Adrien Scott's magnificent pass rush and knocking the ball out of Cade's hands in the third, AJ Jackson's ridiculous, "Madden-esque" 50 yard or so scramble on fourth and long for a TD.
Speaking of Jackson, that guy was super impressive. He is literally a "Great Value" version of Dionte Neal. Does pretty much everything.
The other run that Noah Best had in the third quarter was outrageous. It looked like he made every ER defender miss three times over.
Despite all these great players, I would doing a great disservice if I didn't mention Corvian's kicker, Cooper Peterson. Kid's got a leg on him. I don't think there was a possession that ER didn't start from their own 20.
