East Rutherford at Reidsville - Round 2

Give credit to the Forest City boys' defensive effort. Holding high-powered Reidsville attack to two touchdowns took a great performance. ER played the best pass defense Reidsville has seen in a while. They gambled that the Rams were not a big running threat and overloaded the secondary. Neal's scrambling accounted for most of Reidsville's rushing yards.

On offense, Cavaliers just ran the ball right up the middle all night and kept ball control. Rams were lucky to get back in the game after trailing 21-0 ... Neal's fumble return came when running back was fighting for extra yardage after picking up a first down. And the punt debacle was a gift. The punting game looked to be a weakness for the Cavaliers.
TGT perfecr decription... the East pass defense was very good.... Any bubbles or screens were immediately met and they tripled Harrison all night, he still had a few catches... I dont remember Sharp getting many touches.... their game plan was great... When East scored with a little over 2 to go I knew that was too much time .... It was as good a ball game as I have seen all year... Great run by the Rams...and huge win for the East program...

Burke County hoops

Freedom got a measure of revenge from last year's loses to the Patton boys with a pair of running clock wins over the Panthers tonight on Enola Road. The Lady Patriots won 49-9 and the boys took an 87-46 win. In the girl's game a couple of the underclassmen, such as the Bates girl and Cynica Caldwell, showed what they could do with six and eight points respectively. It was never close, but the Lady Pats will get a test next week when they travel to East Burke. The boys got 26 with a pair of dunks from Amore Connelly and Braxton King had 14 with a dunk of his own. For the second straight game the Pats had eleven players in the scorebook and looked like they were firing on all cylinders.

Ashbrook is very tough to run on. NL better pull out all the stops on offense.
That’s what NL is known for and Wingate is a beast. Given they really hadn’t played anybody cept Hickory. Statesvillle is tough too but tonight they just looked like they didn’t wanna be there according to a very observant fan friend of mine that was there. I’ll be at a game next week, tonight I just wasn’t feeling it. No fumbles and a decent mix of play action with a guy actually catching it is what’s gonna give North a win next week, along with a few lucky breaks on calls n such.
