I hear that a new school will open in the Tarboro area North East Carolina Prep. Will that program hurt the enrollment at Tarboro, Southwest, and North Edgecombe? It seems like the number are already fallen Edgecombe schools. Any thoughts

This school has been open for 2 years now. It initially took quite a number of kids from EC schools. Some have transfered back and it has leveled off some. I don't know of any athletes that went over that would have made a difference on the field. They had a middle school and JV football team this year. Richard Byrd was the head coach and the JV squad had some sucess (nice sized kids, 8th-10th graders), not well versed in their strength of schedule. Coach Byrd is no longer there. Unsure exactly what happened there.
